The Business of the Year category recognises those businesses which make outstanding contributions to the Bracknell Forest region, specifically to its people on a day-to-day basis. These businesses go above and beyond to ensure they make people’s lives that bit better.


The Charity of the Year category recognises the enormous contributions made to the local community by its many charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups. These organisations throughout Bracknell Forest carry out some truly inspirational work, and the winning charities each receive a prize to help them continue carrying out their vital work.


The John Nike Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards are given in honour of John Nike OBE DL, who sadly passed away in 2016. A staunch supporter of the Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards, he was a generous supporter of voluntary groups such as Bracknell Athletics Club and charities. The Pride of Bracknell Forest Adult Award recognises the achievements and selflessness of everyone over 18 from across the region.


The John Nike Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards are given in honour of John Nike OBE DL, who sadly passed away in 2016. A staunch supporter of the Pride of Bracknell Forest Awards, he was a generous supporter of voluntary groups such as Bracknell Athletics Club and charities. The John Nike Pride of Bracknell Forest Young Person’s Award recognises the achievements of under 18’s from the Bracknell Forest area.


A new award for 2023, the Community Contribution Award celebrates those individuals and groups who have gone above and beyond to help their community.


The School of the Year Award looks for schools that have performed exceptionally in providing an effective and engaging learning environment. Our region is highly successful in education and this award recognises schools which are driving academic success forward. The winning schools each receive a prize in recognition of their excellence, and to help them continue pushing their students to achieve and thrive.


The Sport and Leisure Adult’s Award recognises those from the region who have made outstanding commitments to the fields of Sport and Leisure, across any relevant field, and whose achievements do Bracknell Forest credit.


The Sport and Leisure Young Person’s Award recognises those from the region who are under 18 and have made outstanding commitments to the fields of Sport and Leisure, and those whose achievements are laudable even at a younger age.


The Teacher of the Year category recognises those teachers who go the extra mile to make the classroom an engaging environment. They inspire children, from encouraging shy classmates to participate more in lessons to changing children’s outlooks on the world for the better. These are the people making a real difference to our children’s futures.


The Team of the Year identifies groups from the region who have made outstanding commitments to the community or deserve recognition for their achievements.


The Volunteer of the Year award recognises those who give up their time to make enormous contributions to the betterment of the Bracknell Forest community. Their stories are truly inspirational and should serve as a source of pride for everybody throughout the region.


The Outstanding Contribution Award – Charity recognises an organisation that has worked tirelessly for years to support other charities and community groups in the Bracknell Forest area, relying on volunteers to provide that support.


The Outstanding Contribution Award – Individual was awarded in memory of Martin Gocke. Martin was a remarkable member of our community who dedicated his life to serving others, and who has had a profound impact on the lives of young people in our local area. His selfless dedication to others is an inspiration to us all, and he was a true champion of the Bracknell Forest community.
